View of summit from the car park
I activated Mynydd Troed (also WAB TP) after Waun Fach on the 21st March and it was my second of three summits that day. I drove here from Waun Fach (GW/SW-001) which took about 20 minutes. My 3rd and final summit was the neighbouring Mynydd Llangorse (GW/SW-015). Both of these summits are right next to each other and the car parking spot is in the middle of the two – perfect!
Tip to other activators: On the approach to the summit hill parking spot you pass a farm and encounter a gate blocking the road, this threw me a bit and I reversed to find another route. I ended up at another neighbouring farm and they advised me to go back and just open the gate and drive through. Turns out this gate is to keep animals in instead of cars out!
By the time I arrived the winter sun was near to the horizon so I quickly took the obvious path straight up to the summit arriving in about 20 minutes.

I located the trig point, which is painted white with a red dragon stenciled on each side. Even better than this was that the center plug was missing so I could just stick the fishing mast in there:

I setup quickly in the fading light and got going. After spotting myself the first station to get back to me was GB0WMS (Welsh Mines Society Special Event Station) which was nice considering the history of this part of Wales. I worked the usual inter-Gs and into Spain and Germany on 40m.

After making 13 contacts I packed up before admiring the lovely winter sunset from the summit:

I really enjoyed this summit much more than Waun Fach, the views from here were great and the summit is comfortable to operate from, with far less people around.
I descended from this summit, passed the car and headed up to Mynydd Llangorse (GW/SW-015) for my 3rd and final activation of the day, actually it was night as it was dark by the time I got up there!
